π Author Lore: Why I'm Remington, and So Is My Main Character π
“If your name fits your story—wear it.”
1. The Name That Changed Everything
Back in high school, I was crafting characters in a roleplay alongside my co-writer. We needed names—nothing serious.
Then came Remington. One of the protagonists from J.L. Langley’s With or Without series (yes… the gay werewolf erotica ππ). That name echoed. I gave it to my character, Remi, not knowing he’d stick with me for life.
2. Remi First, Remington Second
Wild fact: Remi existed before I did—in the fictional sense. I grew so attached to him that I legally adopted Remington as my name nearly 15 years ago.
Nope, I’m not sharing my dead name π₯², but trust me—it was worth it.
3. From Antithesis to Mirror
Remi began as my complete opposite:
I was reserved; he was weathered and blunt.
I was cautious; he was impulsive.
But over the years, Remi evolved. He became a blend of my traits and our differences—honest, protective, sarcastic, and fiercely loyal. He’s part mirror, part foil. And honestly? That’s the magic of writing—characters that grow with you.
4. Worldbuilding Starts From Bonding
Our connections didn’t end with Remi. Soon came:
Kriia, forming a year after Remi,
Rexar, celebrating his seventh birthday in my imagination this month,
Levi, Vee, and the rest of the found family we now call House of Teeth.
These aren’t just characters—they’re companions and creative guides. Without that bond, this saga doesn’t exist.
5. Why This Matters to You
π₯ Authenticity—you’re reading characters born from a real emotional connection
π️ Evolution—seeing Remi change is watching someone I trust
π¬ Permission—I’m telling you my real identity (mostly) so you feel safe bringing yours too
This is more than author lore—it’s an invitation to the messy heart of storytelling.
6. Behind-the-Scenes Fun Fact
I still haven't told you my birth name π Maybe one day—but for now, the only Remington that matters is the one with neon green eyes and a wrecking-ball heart.
